David Sanders is a litigator who enjoys helping clients solve difficult problems and navigate high-stakes disputes with practical, thoughtful guidance. He takes pride in building strong relationships with clients and approaching every matter with a combination of strategy, responsiveness, and common sense.

As a Member at The Patterson Law Firm, LLC, David represents clients in complex business and professional liability matters, including legal malpractice, accounting malpractice, shareholder disputes, and cryptocurrency litigation.

David brings a well-rounded perspective from representing plaintiffs, defendants, insurers, and insureds alike. Before joining the firm, he practiced in Washington State for more than seven years and later handled a wide range of litigation matters for businesses and individuals at a Chicago law firm, including cases at both the trial and appellate levels.

He earned his J.D. from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, where he served as an editor of the Northwestern Journal of International Human Rights and worked with clients through the Bluhm Legal Clinic’s civil litigation program. He received his B.A. in Political Science, cum laude, from University of Washington.

David is licensed to practice in Illinois and Washington State, as well as before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and several federal district courts, including the Northern District of Illinois and the Eastern and Western Districts of Washington.
